ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education seeks a Special Education Teacher for our elementary populations in an alternative education setting. You will design personalized instruction, deliver targeted goals per IEPs, and collaborate with staff to support diverse learning needs.

You’ll lead dynamic lessons, integrate technology, and maintain comprehensive lesson plans within state standards, contributing to a culture of innovation and student growth.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or related field.
• IL professional educator (PEL) credential in progress or current.
• IL learning behavior specialist (LBS1) credential in progress or current.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Experience with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction.
• Experience in alternative, special education or behavioral health settings.
• Experience with students with IEPs and strong knowledge of IEPs.
• Proven ability to develop and implement education plans for at-risk students.
• Strong communication, organization, problem solving, and decision-making.
• Ability to respond calmly in emergencies.
• Knowledge of technology including Microsoft Office Suite and instructional technology.

Responsabilidades

• Create inclusive, collaborative learning environments involving students, parents, staff, and admins.
• Model PBIS and establish a classroom climate of respect and accountability.
• Implement and reinforce PBIS strategies and reward systems.
• Track student progress, maintain files, and generate progress reports.
• Deliver differentiated instruction in co-teaching settings aligned to IEP goals.
• Adapt curricula to diverse learning styles and coach staff on differentiation.
• Use varied instructional methods and software to support diverse needs.
• Manage caseloads and develop/update IEPs, goals, and interventions.
• Prepare detailed daily lesson plans and organized materials.
• Stay informed on best practices in special education and related fields.
• Respond to feedback and pursue ongoing professional growth.
• Support the school by performing additional duties.
