Job summary

Rochester Public Schools in Rochester, MN seeks a Special Education Educational Support Professional (ESP) to provide instructional support under certified staff. This 6.5-hour day position runs 7:45 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• 60 college semester credits and/or a two-year degree.
• Paraeducator Assessments as alternative; Minnesota passing scores.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with elementary age students.
• Computer skills preferred.
• Flexibility and the ability to work as a cooperative team member.
• Positive rapport with children and ability to correct inappropriate behavior with fairness.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support, data collection, and progress reporting under certified staff.
• Assist with personal cares (toileting, dressing, feeding) as needed.
• Follow Behavior Intervention Plans and Emergency Healthcare Plans.
• Supervise students before, during, and after school in various settings.
• Use iPads and devices to communicate for non-verbal students.
• Support de-escalation and safety procedures as needed.
• Build strong relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.
