Job summary

Elma School District is seeking a Long Term Substitute Teacher - Special Education at Elma Elementary School to provide specialized instruction and ensure IEP goals are implemented effectively.

The position runs approximately 11/20/2026 to 02/26/2027 with base pay starting at $165/day for days 1–20 and higher hourly rates thereafter. Benefits include sick leave accrual and Washington Paid Family Medical Leave.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate or Emergency Substitute Teaching Certificate.
• Special Education Endorsement preferred.
• WSP/FBI fingerprint background clearance (fee paid by the employee).
• Experience in teaching special education at the primary level preferred.
• Experience working with students with diverse needs and implementing IEPs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement instructional programs for students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with administrators, staff, students, and parents.
• Coordinate with related services personnel to support eligible students.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet needs.
• Maintain organized classroom and effective behavior management.
