Job summary

Hamlin Elementary School in Rochester Hills, MI is seeking a Special Education Cognitively Impaired (CI) Paraeducator. This full-time role (7 hours/day, 5 days/week) supports students with disabilities under the supervision of teachers and administrators, following the district calendar.

The hourly wage is $18.00 per hour according to the master agreement. Must have a high school diploma and demonstrate reliability and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience with people with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with special needs following individual learning plans.
• Support with orientation, reading, and curriculum tasks as directed by teachers.
• Help with mobility and daily living activities as needed (bus, building, toileting, etc.).
• Assist with classroom operations: distributing materials, preparing boards, and correcting work.
• Supervise students during activities outside the classroom as required.
• Follow behavioral management programs and communicate progress to educators.
