Job summary

Northwest ISD in Rhome, TX seeks an Elementary Special Education Aide to support students with significant disabilities. You will work under a certified teacher, assisting with instructional programs and self-care tasks in both special and general education settings.

Requirements include TX Paraprofessional Aide certification, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift and assist students. SHARS/MAC/RMTS training may be provided; position is full-time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Paraprofessional Aide certification from Texas required.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of general office equipment.
• Ability to physically manage students with disabilities.
• Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention or Safety Care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher with instructional programs.
• Help with self-care, behavior management, and routines.
• Maintain student records and audit folders.
• Prepare and maintain instructional materials and equipment.
• Supervise students inside and outside the classroom.
• Assist with therapy programs and restraints as trained.
