Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Paraprofessional Aide certification from Texas.
• Ability to work with students with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
• Knowledge of general office equipment.
• Ability to physically manage students with motor/behavioral needs.
• Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention and/or Safety Care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher to provide for physical, instructional, and behavioral needs of students.
• Implement classroom programs including self-help, behavior management, and instruction.
• Assist in maintaining student records and materials, and support in prepared activities.
• Support with student supervision inside and outside the classroom and during transitions.
• Assist with safety procedures including restraints as required and maintain confidentiality.
