Job summary

GT Norman Elementary is seeking a dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher for a full-time role in Michigan. You will collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to implement IEPs that promote academic success and social-emotional growth.

You will develop individualized plans, monitor progress with data, and maintain clear records while fostering an inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid elementary Special Education teaching certification.
• Experience with students with disabilities in a school setting.
• Knowledge of special education laws and best practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency using technology for instruction and data management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet student needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt lesson plans and provide accommodations.
• Monitor student progress using data to inform instructional practices.
• Create a positive classroom environment that encourages engagement and learning.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding progress and goals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student needs and strategies.
