Job summary

Springfield Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional I to support instructional activities in an elementary setting. You will work with individual or small groups to reinforce concepts and provide clerical support to teachers.

Applicants should have 60 college hours, prefer prior experience in a school environment, and obtain the Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate. Background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Requires sixty college hours completed.
• Experience in a school setting preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate.
• Must pass Criminal Background Clearance, satisfactory to the District.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional program in assigned classroom; assist individual/small groups.
• Assist with lesson practice, reinforce learning concepts, and help students reach goals.
• Attend meetings and trainings; convey information relevant to job functions.
• Communicate progress with teachers and participate in needs assessments.
• Implement interventions under supervision to reinforce concepts.
• Maintain records and documentation as required.
