Lee County Schools - AL is seeking a dedicated Special Education Multi Disabled Aide for Wacoochee Elementary School in Salem, Alabama. The role supports elementary students with disabilities for a substantial portion of the school day, assisting with mobility, feeding, toileting, and other personal care under the guidance of a special education teacher.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and may qualify with an associate degree or 48 college credits or an ESSA Workkeys score.

Qualifications

Must meet employment criteria established by Lee County Board of Education.
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate’s degree or 48 college credits or ESSA Workkeys score required.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
Aptitude for completing assigned tasks.
Board may accept alternatives as appropriate.

Responsibilities

Assist with occupational and/or physical therapy recommendations as appropriate.
Aid students with feeding and self-help skills.
Assist with toileting, diapering, transfers, and post-toileting cleanup.
Support personal hygiene tasks (e.g., brushing teeth, hair care).
Assist students with mobility around campus.
Transport assistive technology devices around campus.
Support students during recitation and curriculum tasks without teaching.
Run errands and help with classroom tasks as needed.
Under supervision of the special education teacher, work with small groups to reinforce material.
