Job summary

Sioux Falls YMCA is seeking a Site Lead at Hartford Elementary School to create a fun, structured, and enriching experience for students. The role supports the Site Coordinator and helps maintain a safe, positive environment for all children.

The position is part-time, 3:25pm-6pm, Monday-Friday, running August 17 through May 21. Starting pay is $14.50 per hour for qualified candidates, with opportunities for growth through YMCA programs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in educational, camp, or childcare settings.
• Classroom management and behavior management experience.
• Ability to supervise children during daily activities.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and support daily lesson plans and activities.
• Effectively manage student behaviours using positive reinforcement and classroom strategies.
• Help implement the daily schedule, ensuring activities run on time and transitions are smooth.
• Ensure the safety and supervision of all children at all times.
• Encourage participation and foster a positive, inclusive environment where students feel valued.
• Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and guardians as needed.
• Assist with program logistics, including setup, cleanup, and organization of materials.
• Model professionalism and enthusiasm, setting a positive example for students and staff.
