Job summary

The YMCA of the Black Hills in Edgemont, SD is seeking a dedicated Kidstop Site Coordinator for the 2026-2027 school year to lead our afterschool program.

You will oversee daily site operations, mentor staff, collaborate with school personnel, and ensure safe, engaging activities for elementary and middle school students. Starting pay is $15.30+ per hour DOE; part-time 22 hours weekly; benefits include a free staff YMCA membership.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or working with children in an educational or youth program setting.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with school staff, parents, and YMCA members.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Kidstop site and create a welcoming, enriching environment for students.
• Lead with purpose, implement age-appropriate curriculum, and evaluate staff performance.
• Mentor staff and foster a culture of recognition and growth; collaborate with school personnel.
• Communicate with families about the child's progress and experience; manage lesson plans and safety protocols.
