Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking an exceptional Elementary and Special Education teacher with SEI endorsement for a long-term substitute role in Grade 1. The position starts 09/08/2026 and ends 04/26/2027.

Per diem substitute pay applies, with potential for extension based on assignment needs. The teacher will implement district learning goals, coordinate with the principal, and provide inclusive instruction for English learners and students with disabilities.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
  • License: MA Elementary 1-6 and Moderate Disabilities PK-8.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States by start date.
  • Proven knowledge of effective teaching standards.
  • Experience with diverse learners and SEI environments.

Responsibilities

  • Teach elementary general curriculum in an inclusive setting with students with disabilities and ELs.
  • Provide small-group instruction for students with moderate to severe delays.
  • Write and implement IEP goals; report progress regularly.
  • Offer accommodations and develop curriculum as needed for assessments.
  • Collaborate with school staff to support modifications.
