Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary and Special Education teacher with an SEI endorsement for Grade 3, a long-term substitute position (10/15/2026–06/14/2027). Per diem subs accompany the assignment, starting pay at the per diem rate.

Reports to the Principal/Head of School and will join a district dedicated to high expectations and closing achievement gaps. The role requires a Massachusetts Teaching License (Elementary 1-6, Moderate Disabilities PK-8) with SEI or ESL

Qualifications

• Education level: Bachelor’s degree.
• Massachusetts Teaching License in Elementary 1-6 and Moderate Disabilities PK-8; SEI Endorsement OR ESL license.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Teach Elementary General Curriculum in an inclusive setting with students with Special Needs and English Language Learners.
• Implement district learning goals aligned with state frameworks and identify access points for student portfolio development.
• Provide small-group instruction for students with moderate to severe cognitive delays; monitor progress in the general curriculum.
• Write and implement IEP goals and deliver timely progress reports on student development.
• Provide accommodations for learning and testing; develop/adjust curriculum; analyze student work for MCAS Alternative Assessment progress.
• Collaborate with school staff to support modifications and respond to student needs.
