Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary and Special Education teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. This long-term substitute position starts 09/08/2026 and ends 01/01/2027, with per diem compensation for substitute teachers placed in long-term roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Massachusetts Teaching License in Elementary 1-6 and Moderate Disabilities PK-8 required.
• SEI Endorsement or ESL license required for the grade level.

Responsibilities

• Teach Elementary General Curriculum including students with Special Needs and English Learners (SEI).
• Implement district goals aligned with state frameworks; identify access points for student portfolios.
• Provide small-group instruction for students with cognitive delays to progress in the general curriculum.
• Write/implement IEP goals and report progress on student development.
• Provide accommodations and, if needed, develop curriculum; collect/analyze student work for MCAS alternatives.
• Collaborate with staff to respond to student needs for modification.
