Qualifications

• DESE licensure in Moderate Disabilities PreK-8 required.
• Experience with elementary students with disabilities incl. SLD, EI, and communication disorders.
• Restraint training and 3+ years experience preferred.

• Providing specially designed instruction in both inclusion and pull-out settings
• Scheduling integration time for students
• Providing supervision to paraprofessionals

• Evaluating students using a variety of assessments (e.g. WIAT, GORT, TOWL, CTOPP, etc.)

Job Description

Position Title: Elementary School Special Education Teacher Location: Arthur T. Cummings Elementary School Position Type: Full-time Start Date: January 2027 Position Summary: A successful candidate should be comfortable working as part of a team and have strong oral and written communication skills. Appropriate DESE licensure in Moderate Disabilities Prek-8 is required and candidates should have previous experience working with elementary school students with a variety of disabilities including Specific Learning Disabilities, Emotional Impairment, Communication Disorders etc. Restraint training and three years of experience is preferred.
