Job summary

Bethel School District is seeking a 7-hour per day Elementary Kitchen Manager at Thompson Elementary under the Child Nutrition program. This position includes additional short hours across the year and day-to-day duties such as preparing meals, serving students, and maintaining kitchen areas.

Requirements include SNA certification, fingerprinting/background checks, and a Washington food handler's permit. The role reports to the Director of Child Nutrition and supports school meal services

Qualifications

• SNA certification required.
• Experience serving food desirable.
• Experience working with school age children desirable.
• Fingerprinting and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Sets up serving carts and warming ovens for meals.
• Prepares, pans, and heats food and keeps temperatures.
• Serves meals to students and staff and assists in tray assembly.
• Cleans serving and meal areas between meal periods.
• Supervises Child Nutrition helper(s) and/or Point of Service helper(s).
• Cleans carts, tables and serving areas; stores equipment.
• Cleans refrigerator, storage areas, grills, and shelves.
• Prepares list of next day's order for food and supplies.
• Launders kitchen linen and other items as needed.
• May perform cashier/point-of-service duties.
• Participates in district committees as needed.
• Performs related duties consistent with the position.
