Job summary

Howard County Public School System in Maryland is seeking an Elementary School Assistant Principal to provide educational leadership and oversee school programs. Under the principal's direction, you will help establish a climate conducive to learning, coordinate programs, and support student achievement.

The role requires a master's degree, MSDE administrator certification, and at least five years of certificated teaching or administrative experience, with leadership beyond the classroom

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Hold a current MSDE professional certificate or license in an MSDE licensure area with Administrator I or II endorsements.
• Five years of experience as a certificated or licensed educator, with at least two years at the elementary level.

Responsibilities

• Assist the principal in providing effective leadership and operating the school.
• Articulate goals of the Board and Educational Equity policy.
• Establish a safe and conducive learning environment for all students.
• Promote student voice and utilize resources to support youth learning experiences.
• Provide instructional leadership and professional development for staff.
