Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is seeking a Facilities and Nutrition Services professional to manage production of meals and snacks, ensuring portions follow records and recipes, while handling allergens and various meat products. You will assist with serving lines and complete daily production records for breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

You will ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, including reimbursable meal requirements for audits, and support students with special diet

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a food safety exam to obtain Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager license within 6 months of hire.
• Willingness to attend employer-provided food safety training courses.
• Experience in a public school kitchen or related food service operations.
• Knowledge of government sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer skills and willingness to learn.
• Regular, on-time attendance required.
• Ability to lift 31–50 lbs.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage production of all meals and snacks to ensure correct portions using production records and standardized recipes.
• Handle foods with allergens and a variety of meat products.
• Assist with set up of serving lines and serve food.
• Complete daily production records for breakfast, lunch and snacks as instructed.
• Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations including reimbursable meal requirements for audits.
• Ensure meals for students with special diets are correct.
• Oversee SNS computer system tasks such as payments, account information and day end procedures.
• Maintain and prepare district/USDA compliant records and confidentiality of accounts.
