Job summary

Bethel Park School District seeks an Elementary School Counselor to develop and coordinate a comprehensive counseling program in partnership with the Advisory Team, focusing on each student's academic and personal-social growth.

The role delivers the guidance curriculum, provides individual and group counseling, participates in IEP/GIEP/504 processes, and coordinates with teachers, families, and community agencies to support learning success.

Qualifications

• PA State Certification as Elementary & Secondary School Counselor PK-12.
• Bachelor's degree in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction and data analysis.
• Ability to use computer networks and software applications.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Driver's license or own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Develops and coordinates a school counseling program in conjunction with the Advisory Team.
• Focuses on each student's academic and personal-social development and collaborates with others.
• Implements a guidance curriculum and provides classroom guidance lessons.
• Abides by laws, regulations, policies.
• Provides individual or small group counseling and crisis intervention.
• Maintains and updates the department website and forms.
