Under the supervision of the principal, the counselor will assist in course selection, coordinate services for students with diverse needs, and promote a positive school climate through counseling, data-driven planning, and family involvement.

Qualifications

• Iowa State Certification as a Guidance Counselor.
• Bachelor’s degree in education required.
• Strong communication with students and families.

Responsibilities

• Assists students in evaluating aptitudes and creating education plans.
• Assists students in course and subject selections.
• Coordinates with staff to identify student needs and guide services.
• Researches opportunities and coordinates with teachers to provide information.
• Provides counseling to promote personal growth, self-understanding, and maturity.
• Maintains current professional knowledge through seminars and research.
