Job summary

Clear Creek ISD seeks a Child Nutrition Manager for the Wedgewood Elementary campus in Friendswood, TX. You will supervise food service operations, train staff, ensure meals meet health codes and schedules, and maintain production records.

This role requires leadership of kitchen and cafeteria staff, adherence to district policies, and proactive engagement in district goals. A strong focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid food manager's permit or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Texas State Food Service Association certification preferred.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and appliances used in food preparation.
• Knowledgeable in operating a cost-effective program.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Ability to direct and manage personnel.
• Proficiency in multi-tasking and basic bookkeeping/mathematics.
• Minimum of 3 years in institutional food service or completion of Food Service Manager's course.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a valid food manager's certificate.
• Produce and maintain work schedules and production records.
• Direct daily activities in the kitchen and cafeteria.
• Maintain food production that ensures safety and quality per policies.
• Ensure food items are stored safely.
• Maintain serving schedules; ensure items served per menu per policies.
• Maintain a sanitary cafeteria; follow health codes.
• Maintain accurate daily/monthly financial production reports and cash from registers.
• Supervise cafeteria employees; promote growth, efficiency, morale, teamwork.
• Train CN Worker I and assistant managers.
• Maintain equipment maintenance logs and preventive checks.
• Justify replacement of existing equipment to meet facility needs.
• Demonstrate CCISD Core Values in actions.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning.
• Collaborate with district to meet goals.
• Utilize technology proficiently.
• Participate in drills and safety exercises for student safety.
