Job summary

Columbia Heights Public Schools is seeking two Medium Hour Cooks to work at Highland Elementary School. Schedule is 4 hours per day, 5 days per week with a hourly salary range of $18.76 to $24.33.

External posting window opens 9/24/26 and interviews are scheduled on request. Responsibilities include food preparation, serving lines, basic cashier duties, and maintaining sanitary kitchen operations under supervision of the Food Service Manager and Cook Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and moderate experience in a high capacity food preparation environment.
• Level 1 Food Service Safety and Sanitation certification within 6 months of hire.
• Membership in Minnesota School Nutrition Association preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves breads, vegetables, fruits, desserts and other foods.
• Works on serving line and sets up serving area with utensils and condiments.
• Cleans dishes, sanitizes work surfaces and kitchen areas.
• Operates dishwasher and maintains inventory and records.
• Serves as cashier and handles money received.
