Job summary

Memphis Shelby County Schools seeks a senior administrator to assist with the overall administration of an elementary school. You will supervise professional staff, plan and evaluate programs, and report to executive level administrators.

You will lead staff development, ensure policy adherence, coordinate budgets and testing programs, and act as Principal in the absence of the Principal, contributing to a productive instructional environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in educational administration or supervision.
• State certification in Administration/Supervision at the elementary and/or secondary level.
• 3–5 years of successful teaching experience with some leadership.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and administration of assigned elementary school; act in the Principal's absence.
• Supervise staff including hiring, evaluating, counseling and discipline; prepare performance reviews.
• Develop and implement staff training and development programs.
• Plan and implement school-wide programs, policies, goals and objectives; ensure policy adherence.
• Coordinate and assure standardized testing programs.
• Maintain student conduct and enforce due process rights.
• Manage school budget and seek grants for special programs; procure equipment and supplies as needed.
• Review instructional programs; observe classrooms and suggest improvements.
