Job summary

Barbour County Schools seeks two part-time tutors to support a focused intervention program in Reading and Mathematics for K-5 students. Tutoring sessions will be conducted during the school day, with a focus on small group and one-on-one instruction, under the supervision of the Principal.

The positions are contract/hourly, up to 18 hours per week per tutor, beginning October 2026 and ending May 2027, funded by federal grants. Compensation is $35.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid West Virginia teaching certificate endorsed in Elementary Education 0K-05 or Multi-Subjects 0K-05.

Responsibilities

• Implement focused intervention program of study in Reading and Mathematics for students in grades K-5 through tutoring sessions.
• Lead one-on-one and small group lessons to meet individual student goals.
• Provide individualized instruction to help students learn concepts and complete assignments.
• Monitor progress and use data to ensure student growth toward objectives.
