Job summary

Barbour County Schools seeks two part-time tutors to support a focused intervention program in Reading and Mathematics for K-5 students. Tutoring sessions will be conducted during the school day, with a focus on small group and one-on-one instruction, under the supervision of the Principal.

The positions are contract/hourly, up to 18 hours per week per tutor, beginning October 2026 and ending May 2027, funded by federal grants. Compensation is $35.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid West Virginia teaching certificate endorsed in Elementary Education 0K-05 or Multi-Subjects 0K-05.

Responsibilities

• Implement focused intervention program of study in Reading and Mathematics for students in grades K-5 through tutoring sessions.
• Lead one-on-one and small group lessons to meet individual student goals.

Employment Term

Lead one-on-one and small group lessons that cater to the needs and goals of the students. Facilitate individualized instruction to improve student skills in Reading and Math. Provide students with individualized assistance to help them learn new concepts and complete assignments. Conduct intervention as directed by data to ensure student growth.
