Job summary

Clayton County Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Paraprofessional (K-5) for Smith Elementary in Rex, Georgia. The role provides student assistance under teacher supervision, supporting instruction and classroom activities.

Responsibilities include assisting with materials prep, small-group instruction, keeping records, and supervising students in various settings. Eligible candidates must meet GaPSC requirements and obtain Paraprofessional licensure.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional experience serving school age children desirable.
• Bilingual or bicultural experience required for certain positions.
• Must hold or be eligible for GaPSC Paraprofessional License.

Responsibilities

• Conducts small group or individual classroom activities based on teacher lesson plans.
• Assists with preparation of instructional materials, bulletin boards and grading.
• Operates and records in the media center or during the absence of the media specialist.
• Assists with routine record keeping, housekeeping and school-wide supervision such as bus duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the program.

Education

Associate’s degree or higher

Two years of college coursework

GACE Paraprofessional Assessment + high school diploma/GED
