Job summary

Clayton County Public Schools is seeking a Kindergarten Paraprofessional at Hawthorne Elementary in Hampton, GA. The paraprofessional will assist K–5 students under teacher supervision, support small-group and individual instruction, prepare instructional materials, and help with classroom operations and supervision.

Position is full-time and pays on a standardized salary scale. Starting immediately, the role requires one of several educational pathways and GaPSC licensure eligibility.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional experience serving school age children desirable.
• Bilingual or bicultural experience required for certain positions.

Responsibilities

• Conducts small group or individual classroom activities with students based on lesson plans developed by the teacher.
• Assists with preparation of materials for instruction and copying/duplicating materials.
• Operates the circulation system, files catalog cards and assists in inventory and media center operations.
• Assists with routine record keeping and school-wide supervision as needed.

Education

Associate’s degree or higher (any subject)

Two years of college coursework (60 hours or 90 quarter hours)
