Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support and direct instruction to students in small groups and classroom to meet IEP goals
• Assist teachers with curriculum adaptations, lessons, and modifications for students with disabilities
• Supervise classrooms when the special educator is elsewhere in the building
• Implement positive behavior management and support plans during instruction
• Attend planning meetings, in-service trainings, team meetings, and parent conferences
• Adapt materials to meet individual student needs and IEP goals
• Consult with teachers, special educators, and therapists on student progress and goals
• Maintain knowledge of IEPs and collect data as requested
• Supervise students during transitions and daily routines
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
