Job summary

Powder Mill School in Southwick, MA is seeking a Teacher's Aide/Paraprofessional Class 2 to support the Special Education program and its students.

The role reports to the Building Principal and requires an Associate’s Degree or equivalent, with PBIS and Assistive Technology experience a plus. The position involves data collection, behavior support, and collaboration with teachers to implement IEP accommodations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or two years post-secondary training in education or related field; ParaPro assessment favorable.
• Two+ years of prior work experience preferred.
• Experience with children with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the special education teacher to meet the individual needs of students.
• Provide instructional assistance in selected skill areas.
• Collect data and implement behaviour management program for designated children.
• Implement PBIS plans for students.
• Provide inclusionary support in classroom.
• Participate in Professional Development/training as needed.
• Provide support services and accommodations as recommended by related services personnel, therapist and consultants.
• Review and implement modifications and accommodations documented in student’s IEP.
• Provide support to students requiring Assistive Technology to access the curriculum.
• Be prepared to work with students whose disabilities may impact behavior and assist with related needs.
