Job summary

JFK Elementary in the Boston Public Schools district seeks a Paraprofessional to cover a leave, starting immediately through 10/26/26. The role involves supporting instruction and classroom activities under the Principal/Head of Schools.

The paraprofessional will assist in small groups, prepare instructional materials, manage behavior, supervise field trips, and work with diverse students. Requires 2+ years experience with young children and authorization to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• 48 credit hours of college coursework or an Associate's degree, or passing ParaPro/WorkKeys.
• Minimum of two years experience working with young children.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by start date.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
• Provides assistance with classroom activities.
• Prepares instructional materials.
• Assists in classroom setup and cleanup.
• Manages individual and classroom behavior using prescribed approaches.
• Supervises students on field trips.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Headmaster/Principal.
