Job summary

Spearman ISD is accepting applications for a General Education Elementary Paraprofessional for the 2024-2025 school year. The paraprofessional provides instructional assistance under the direct supervision of a certified teacher and helps prepare, conduct, and manage classroom activities.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, and the candidate must be highly qualified under district standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English; Spanish preferred.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be "highly qualified" per district standards (two years of college, an associate degree, or equivalent training).

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help supervise students throughout the school day, including lunchroom, bus and playground duty.

Job description

Gus Birdwell Elementaryis accepting applications for the following non-certified paraprofessional position: General Education Elementary Paraprofessional for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year.

Applicant must have the ability to communicate effectively in both English & Spanish is preferred, but not required. In addition, applicant must have: (1) high school diploma or GED; and (2) must be \"highly qualified\". To be considered \"highly qualified\" applicant must meet one of the following: (a) completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of high education (as verified by a college transcript); (b) obtained an associates degree; (c) have met a standard of quality as demostrated through a rigorous five days of academic training and assessment.

The District's contributes $400 per month towards applicants health insurance. Applicant must undergo a FBI Fingerprinting and criminal history check before they can begin employment.
