Job summary

PiperCreek Elementary is seeking a special education paraprofessional for the 2025-2026 school year. Starting wage: $15.60/hour with increases based on education and experience. The position is open until filled.

This is an hourly, full-time role with paid health insurance. You will provide instructional support under licensed professionals, assist with student supervision, data collection, and daily activities aligned with IEPs, and work to establish a supportive relationship with students,

Qualifications

• High school graduate
• Experience in working with young people
• Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

• Provides essential supervisory, monitoring, and ensures student safety
• Performs errands as tasks as instructed as needed
• Under supervision, works directly with students in various capacities as dictated by the student's IEP
• Establishes a supportive relationship with students, staff, and parents
• Student data collection and record-keeping, such as maintaining observational and anecdotal records
• Assisting the special teacher with paperwork related to support provided to students with exceptionalities for whom the paraeducator is responsible
• Assist with physical needs of students as directed.Participate in meetings and in-service training programs as assigned.
• Upholds the highest confidential and professional standards in all forms of communication, daily job functions, interactions with staff, students and parents
• Must be able to assist, lift, accommodate students in wheel chairs, walkers, and/or assist in other motor skill activities as necessary.
• Assist with personal care needs of students as necessary.
• Complies with all district policies, rules, and regulations.

To provide instructional services under the supervision of licensed or certified special education professionals in an accredited or approved special education program.
