Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Must meet NCLB compliance: either an Associate's degree or 60 college credits, or have passed the Parapro Assessment Examination.
• Experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Implement individual and small group intervention under the supervision of a certified teacher.
• Administer, score and record achievements and diagnostic tests under the direction of the teacher.
• Assist in devising strategies for reinforcing material based on student needs.
• Assist with handling, operation and care of classroom equipment and materials.
• Check notebooks, correct papers and supervise testing and make-up work.
• Serve as a resource for substitute teachers.
• Assist with drill work, large group reading or storytelling.
• Support students in mastering equipment or materials.
• Guide independent study, enrichment and remedial work.
• Attend Professional Development as required by administrators.
• Perform related duties as assigned by the teacher or administrator.
