The ParaEducator serves as a vital member of the classroom team, assisting teachers in the supervision and instruction of special education students as outlined in PPT and IEP. Working under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher, building Principal, and/or Supervisor of Special Education, the ParaEducator plays an integral role in supporting student learning and educational objectives.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/ or abilities required:
The position will require infrequent lifting, pulling or pushing during the normal performance of the tasks and responsibilities. Work may require frequent walking, standing and the ability to work on the floor with children. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of a ParaEducator, at a minimum, the essential functions of the position.
