Job summary

The Sylvania school district is seeking an Elementary Paraeducator to support students and teachers in an elementary setting. This position is Part-Time, 184 days per year, 3 hours per day, and includes duties such as assisting in classrooms, lunchroom, playground, and computer lab, under supervision of the teacher.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, strong communication and recordkeeping, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be physically working in the building.
• Good communications, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability/desire to work with technology and computers.
• Ability to supervise students and take direction.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance and lift 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in groups with lesson assignments to reinforce learning concepts.
• Supervise areas where students gather (hallways, classrooms, playgrounds, lunchroom, bus areas).
• Support students in behavior, social, and emotional development.
• Prepare and maintain student records, media inventory, filing, and technology support.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
