Qualifications

• Successful experience working with elementary aged children.
• Demonstrated experience using computers and technology applications including Windows software and google suite.
• Evidence of flexibility and adaptability.
• Evidence of a strong academic background in content areas of reading, writing and math.
• Evidence of ability to communicate effectively and work with a variety of people.
• Ability to supervise children during lunch and on the playground which includes develop appropriate games and activities for young children.
• Positive evaluations and recommendations.
• Evidence of excellent attendance, punctuality and dependability.
• Evidence of ability to be self-disciplined and a self-starter.
• Ability to work with all children within the school setting, regardless of abilities and cultural background.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the classrooms under teacher direction, using developmentally appropriate activities.
• Prepare instructional materials as requested.
• Supervise playground, lunchroom and crosswalk duties as requested using appropriate safety measures.
• Lead organized activities and games during recess and playtime.
• Assist with first-aid as needed.
• Maintain records as directed.
• Assist in supervision and control of students in order to promote a safe, orderly and positive learning climate.
• Maintain a professional and confidential relationship with all students and families and their records.
• Communicate as needed with supervisor and other staff regarding work or student related issues.
• Perform all duties of the position within the scope of Kennewick School District policies and procedures, including regular attendance and punctuality.
