Job summary

Richer Elementary School in Marlborough, Massachusetts is hiring a paraeducator to support students in special education and general education settings. Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate's Degree, pass the Para-Pro test or completion of 48 undergraduate credits.
• Bilingual preferred (Spanish and/or Portuguese) for EL Paras.
• Prior experience in a school setting is preferred.
• Must be a Team Player with collaborative behavior.
• Able to lift 25 pounds occasionally with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction and supervision of students, supporting academic, social, and behavioral goals.
• Follow IEPs/504 Plans for students with special needs.
• Assist students with test administration and data collection.
• Provide support during crisis management and safety procedures as needed.
• Attend training and maintain certification in de-escalation and physical management.
• Escort and supervise students between facilities and areas.
• Collaborate with teachers and related staff to meet individual student needs.
• Establish a positive learning environment and respond to student needs.
• Assist with daily tasks such as eating, mobility, dressing and toileting.
• Lifts and carries learners who need support.
• Safeguard confidential information per FERPA/HIPAA.
• Perform other duties as required by teachers, principals, or district staff.
