The role involves working 1:1 with students or in small groups, supporting academic, social, emotional, and physical needs, including toileting assistance when required. Candidates should have an associates degree or equivalent, awareness of various disabilities, and familiarity with school procedures.

Qualifications

• Associates degree, some college credit or passing the paraeducator test.
• Knowledge of various disabilities.
• Knowledge of school classroom procedures, including records maintenance.
• Knowledge of special education procedures.
• Aptitude or competence for elementary school responsibilities.
• Experience with age-appropriate students in a school setting.
• Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, socially in the school setting.
• Assist students with toileting as needed.
• Ability to follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers.

Responsibilities

• Work with elementary school children in general and special education settings.
