Job summary

Bernards Township Public Schools seeks a caring One-to-One School Aide to support an elementary student at Cedar Hill Elementary School. The role is full-time for the school year, 7 hours daily, on all school days, with compensation of $23.87 per hour.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathroom needs, personal care while maintaining privacy, and helping the student transition to class. Must meet NJ employment requirements and have a substitute certificate.

Qualifications

• Substitute certificate is required to work in a public school district.
• Experience with children, especially elementary age, is preferred.
• Experience providing personal care or toileting assistance is preferred.
• Willingness to provide toileting and personal care assistance.
• Maintain student confidentiality, dignity and privacy at all times.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work within a school team.
• Must meet NJ employment requirements including criminal history clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the student with safe travel to and from a designated bathroom.
• Provide personal care while preserving privacy and dignity.
• Support the student in transitioning back to the classroom.
• Follow student plans, health and safety procedures, and staff directives.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding the student and needs.
• Perform other duties related to student support and supervision.
