Job summary

Pillar Care Continuum is seeking a 1 to 1 AIDE/Paraprofessional for Pillar Elementary School in Livingston, NJ. You will assist Teachers of the Handicapped in planning and executing educational programs for assigned classes.

The schedule is Monday–Friday 8:15 am–3:15 pm, 12 months with paid recess. Salary is $18.50 hourly with full-time benefits and a caring, inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Substitute Certificate (or eligible) is preferred or required.
• Basic ASL is a highly preferred skill but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction including routines, academics and therapy activities.
• Support students with daily living skills and independence.
• Adapt activities and materials to learner needs under teachers' guidance.
• Prepare classroom displays and instructional materials.
• Follow directions and manage routines with minimal direction.
• Support therapists' recommendations and use adaptive equipment safely.
• Be punctual for meetings and trainings.
• Supervise students during bus arrivals/departures.
