Job summary

Edmonds School District is seeking an Elementary Office Support Secretary to assist in the main office. You will enter attendance and registrations in Skyward, monitor the health room, answer calls, welcome visitors, and support students, parents, staff and the public in a busy school setting.

The role is 7 hours per day on a 190 day calendar. Non-exempt, hourly rate listed, continuing position with potential variation in hours and times.

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Hold a post-secondary or advanced degree; or Earned a minimum of ten (10) relevant college credits; or Have three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to quickly learn the use and application of student information system software; experience with diverse communities is preferred.

Position Information:

This position supports the operations of the school's main office and provides assistance to the Office Manager and Building Administrator(s). The Secretary enters student attendance and registration records in the Skyward system and maintains manual files; monitors the student health room; answers telephone calls; greets all office visitors; provides support services for students, parents, staff, and the public.

Shift Details:7 hours a day; 190 day calendar
Continuing Position:Employees have reasonable assurance of continued employment to the following school year. However, an employee's total work hours, work locations, and the designated beginning and ending times may vary.
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Hourly Rate: $35.83(hourly) (2026-2027Office Personnel Salary Schedule) [Effective Sept. 1, 2026]

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

  • 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.

and, one of the following:

  • Hold a post-secondary or advanced degree; or
  • Earned a minimum of ten (10) relevant college credits; or
  • Have three (3) years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to quickly learn the use and application of student information system software. Previous experience in a position requiring public contact and interaction with racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse communities.

Benefits:
The Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) provides access to health care services. Our benefits are provided to eligible positions through SEBB (School Employees Benefits Board). Eligibility for SEBB state health insurance coverage is determined by working 630 hours during the school year.

Eligibility for a state retirement plan through the Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) is determined upon hire and is based on a variety of factors.
