Job summary

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of preparing and serving food; institutional food service experience is desired.
• Completion of a two-hour Safeschools course required within the first year of employment.
• Reading, writing in English and business math; food preparation techniques as applied to institutional school food preparation; USDA guidelines for school breakfast/lunch programs; money handling; supervisory techniques.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and assist employees in food preparation and service activities following the menu.
• Supervise serving of meals and facility clean-up; train and direct staff and student workers; maintain operational priorities daily.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment; manage inventories, payments, and deposits; ensure sanitary and safe work environment.
