Job summary

White Bear Lake Area Schools Nutrition Services is seeking an Elementary School Food Service Assistant to support meal preparation, record-keeping, and payments under supervision. You will help with ordering, deliveries, and daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth service for students and staff.

Start date is as soon as possible. Position offers school-day schedule 7:15 am to 2:15 pm, 10 paid holidays, benefits, and opportunities for paid training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with some experience in food service.
• Must be able to maintain accurate records for payments, inventory, and meals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food per menus and portion controls.
• Maintain food production records, serve students and staff, and handle payments and deliveries.
• Supervise and train other staff as needed.
• Monitor sanitation and safety practices and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Keep track of temperatures, inventory, and meal counts.
• Assist with end-of-day closing and end-of-year preparation.
