Requirements
Under the direction of the
- Current K-5 teacher certification with previous K-5 teaching experience
- Training in and experience with providing Reading and / or Math Interventions, preferred, such as:
- Experience using the MTSS framework to provide appropriate and successful interventions for students
- Knowledgeable in evidence based intervention approaches within each MTSS Academic Tier
- Math Recovery, Bridges Math Interventions, Bridges Math programming, Number Corner, LETRS, Orton-Gillingham +, REWARDS, and/or other structured literacy training
- Experience with using diagnostic assessment tools
- Experience with staff training or facilitating professional learning experiences
The Position
Requirements
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Curriculum, Assessment & Grants or designee, the MTSS Intervention Educator will have the following job requirements:
- Current K-5 teacher certification with previous K-5 teaching experience
- Training in and experience with providing Reading and / or Math Interventions, preferred, such as:
- Experience using the MTSS framework to provide appropriate and successful interventions for students
- Knowledgeable in evidence based intervention approaches within each MTSS Academic Tier
- Math Recovery, Bridges Math Interventions, Bridges Math programming, Number Corner, LETRS, Orton-Gillingham +, REWARDS, and/or other structured literacy training
- Experience with using diagnostic assessment tools
- Experience with staff training or facilitating professional learning experiences
Required
Qualified candidates must possess a Masters Degree in Literacy or Reading from an accredited university. The candidate must have strong organizational, communication, and project management skills, combined with proficiency in technology, knowledge of public school operations, the ability to build positive stakeholder relationships, manage multiple priorities, and work flexible and evening hours as required. Successful candidate duties may include:
- Work with students individually or in small groups to implement intervention protocols with integrity and fidelity
- Administer required and identified assessments and follow the selection process for interventions
- Monitor individual student progress related to intervention goals
- Accurately document student assessment data and progress
- Submit reports to District and Building as requested in a timely manner
- Provide direction and support for paraprofessional intervention staff
- Provide staff with information about MTSS academic interventions
- Participate in SAT/Child Study and Data Day Meetings
- Collaborate with the continuous improvement staff, building administrator, district MTSS Coach and grant staff
- Participate in and provide leadership with professional learning opportunities for MTSS Academic Tiers
- Communicate with students, parents, teachers, administrators in regards to student progress in interventions
- Oversee day to day maintenance of program materials
- Perform other duties as assigned
