Salary Range: $50,000 - $90,819 depending on education and experience

Position Purpose

This Interventionist will provide academic support in the area of Reading or Mathematics. The interventionist will collaborate with other staff members to identifying student's needs. The interventionist will use data from building wide assessments, classroom data and referrals to provide appropriate instruction in order to bring students up to grade level. Interventionist will use research-based interventions to instruct students based on their individual needs. Interventionists will be expected to keep accurate records and data-based documentation that will be shared with instructional staff and administration. There will be an expectation that interventionists will work with teachers to monitor student progress toward grade-level goals.

Essential Functions

  • Provide high quality instruction to individual students and small groups
  • Identify student needs and collaborate with other staff members in helping students meet academic goals
  • Use data to provide instruction to students and to bring their skills to grade-level
  • Use research-based interventions focusing specifically on individual student needs
  • Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress
  • Provide data to school teams and administration and participate in decisions about student progress
  • Work with classroom teachers to monitor student progress
Additional Duties

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment

Travel Requirements

Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
  • Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts.
  • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
  • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
  • Attend appropriate trainings to improve knowledge and skills
  • Participate in all staff and team meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards

Works in standard office and school building environments.

Certification/License/Qualifications Profile
  • Elementary Tier III or Tier IV MN Teaching License preferably with an emphasis in reading or math
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish are preferred but not required
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to apply instructional strategies on differentiation
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to collect and apply data
  • Deep understanding of scientific-based reading and/or math teaching and intervention strategies
Education
  • Bachelors from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
  • Masters Degree in related area preferred.
Experience

Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels a plus.
