Job summary

CAPITOL REGION EDUCATION COUNCIL (CREC) seeks an experienced Elementary Mathematics Instructional Coach to support three magnet schools in Greater Hartford. The role emphasizes equity and data-informed instruction while collaborating with district colleagues to strengthen math teaching practice.

You will design targeted professional development, analyze student work, and coach teachers to advance standards-aligned math instruction across K-5.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in education discipline applicable to assignment.
• Elementary teaching certification (K-6).
• Master's in math education and admin cert preferred but not required.
• Minimum 7 years of elementary teaching experience.
• Experience as a mathematics coach or mentor.
• Knowledge of CCSS and Smarter Balanced Assessment.
• Ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain K-5 Mathematics curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
• Collaborate with other math instructional coaches.
• Oversee training and implementation of district curriculum and materials.
• Design and coordinate district-wide and school-based professional development.
• Analyze data to drive instructional decisions.
• Provide individual and group instructional coaching to teachers.
• Support school leaders in recognizing exemplary mathematics instruction.
• Other duties as assigned.
