Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools in Stone Ridge, Virginia is seeking a part-time Cafeteria Monitor to supervise students in the school lunchroom from entry to dismissal and maintain an orderly environment.

The role includes assisting students at the lunch line, helping with condiments and napkins, and coordinating seating and cleanup at day’s end. A high school diploma and good communication with children and staff are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the following knowledge, abilities, and skills.
• Knowledge of student behavior as applied to children; of the language, culture, and other characteristics of the families whose children are enrolled in Loudoun County Public Schools.
• Ability to work effectively with children; to supervise student behavior, maintain discipline, and to perform general lunch room duties
• Good human relations and communications skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee students in the lunchroom from entry to exit.
• Assist students at the lunch line, including condiments, opening milk cartons, napkins, etc.
• Maintain an orderly lunchroom atmosphere by encouraging good table etiquette and respect for others.
• Assist parents, relatives, or visitors in the lunchroom.
• Arrange tables for seating of students and support cleanup after lunch periods.
