Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools Lowes Island Elementary School in Sterling, VA, is seeking a part-time Cafeteria Monitor to oversee students in the school lunchroom and assist with daily lunchroom activities.

The role requires high school graduation, strong supervision and communication skills, and the ability to support a safe, orderly lunchroom environment. Part-time shifts and a banded hourly rate are offered.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of student behavior as applied to children and awareness of family dynamics in the LCPS community.
• Ability to supervise students, maintain discipline, and perform general lunchroom duties.
• Good human relations and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee students from entry to exit of the lunchroom to ensure safety and order.
• Assist students at the lunch line with condiments, milk cartons, napkins, and other needs.
• Supervise seating and conduct to promote orderly lunchroom etiquette and respect among students.
• Assist parents, relatives, or visitors in the lunchroom.
• Arrange tables and seating for students.
• Assist with cleanup after each class and at the end of the day, and as needed.
• Know the proper fire exits and safety procedures.
• Perform related duties as required.
