Job summary

South Washington County Schools at Bailey Elementary School is seeking a Lunchroom/Recess Paraprofessional to supervise students during lunch and recess and to enforce behavioral expectations to provide a safe, welcoming environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong teamwork and communication, and the ability to supervise up to 130 children. Training in behavior management and CPR/first aid is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Competencies as required by State of Minnesota and District 833.
• Proven teamwork, confidentiality, and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise up to 130 children.
• Ability to lift 10 pounds.
• Current first aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize students with behavioral guidelines for lunch/recess.
• Develop positive relationships with students to support learning.
• Maintain a positive working atmosphere with staff.
• Escort students to lunchrooms, restrooms, and nurse’s office as needed.
• Provide on-site conflict resolution and refer incidents to the principal.
• Supervise lunchroom cleanliness and organize constant supervision during recess.
• Ensure safe movement of groups to and from recess areas.
