Job summary

Brilla Schools in the Bronx seeks an Elementary Literacy Teacher to deliver rigorous, classically-inspired literacy instruction across multiple blocks (Close Reading, Writing, Phonics, Literacy Interventions). You’ll maintain a structured classroom, foster virtue, and drive growth for scholars in grades 2–4.

Collaboration with literacy peers and families is essential. The role requires a bachelor’s degree or higher, strong communication, and teaching certification (preferred).

Qualifications

• Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
• Experience in urban, elementary teaching with student growth.
• Teaching certification in elementary education (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deliver literacy instruction across Close Reading, Writing, Phonics and Literacy Interventions.
• Establish a structured, welcoming classroom culture to support virtue and mastery.
• Collaborate with literacy colleagues and grade-level teachers to meet growth targets.
• Partner with families to strengthen home-to-school connections and support scholars’ outcomes.
